CALI
Catalysts Action Leadership Institute
CALI develops a network of youth climate justice leaders who organize and lead campaigns for a liberated and resilient Oakland. Through participatory research, ethnic studies, and hands-on projects, youth gain real-world experience analyzing air, soil, and water quality issues and turn that knowledge into advocacy and action. CALI participants build leadership skills through Youth Advisory Council engagement, membership meetings, and Saturday training programs, preparing them to be effective organizers and movement builders. Participants receive stipends for their leadership and contributions, strengthening both their skills and their agency in shaping community change.
ONGOING GROWTH OPPORTUNITES FOR LEADERSHIP & ACTION
CALI is designed to build a network of youth leaders engaged in climate action through participatory research & ethnic studies. Our youth leaders meet weekly to engage in hands-on exploration of adaptation and sustainability projects, analyze data and research to address air, soil, and water quality issues, and engage in action, advocacy and community engagement initiatives with the goal of building a resilient and liberated Oakland for the future. Students receive stipends for participation.
